Darien Summer School provides programming to more than 1,400 children in a variety of topics including music, art, theater, sports, technology, and dance in addition to the traditional reading, writing, math, and science courses.
“We decided to redesign the Darien Summer School & Enrichment website because we recently moved to only providing an online course catalog,” said Kaitlin Stanton, Darien Summer School program director. “Since we were no longer printing the paper catalog, we felt that families needed an easier to use, mobile-friendly site where they could search for classes and put together a great schedule of programming for their children each summer.”
Web Solutions built a new, mobile-friendly site in CMS v4, with a large photo rotator on the home page to show images from Darien Summer School’s classes and activities. The home page also features convenient quick links into the features and functions people have the most questions about, including how to register, medical information, drop off and pick-up, and transfers and refunds.
A new class search feature lets users look for classes and camps by grade and topic, and the advanced class search lets users find a class quickly by a number of features, including keyword, instructor, time of day, and start and end dates.
“We love the new website’s style, ease of navigation, and advanced search capabilities,” said Stanton. “The Web Solutions team was responsive to our specific needs and was able to work quickly to get the new site up and running in time for us to open registration.”
