User-friendly access to vital information was a paramount goal for Web Solutions when it began website redevelopment services for Wheeler Clinic’s Connecticut Clearinghouse, a statewide resource for information about mental health, substance use disorders, health promotion, recovery and wellness. “The client’s existing site had so much information in so many different areas,” noted Tom Barton, President of Web Solutions. “We sought to create a web interface in which the design assisted the user in obtaining desired information. This layout was built upon a navigational system that we helped to consolidate and make more dominant visually.”
Another vital goal for the client was the ability to have content management tools and site editing capabilities that did not require learning a web development program. Web Solutions created custom content management tools for every area of the website that contains materials and information frequently subject to change. “We are delighted with the technology provided,” remarked Judith Stonger, Program Coordinator for Connecticut Clearinghouse. “It gives us such a great sense of control in that we are keeping the information we provide accurate and timely.” The redeveloped site, located at www.ctclearinghouse.org, launched earlier this month. Already seeing 550+ visitors per day, users continue to provide extremely positive feedback on the site’s usability and aesthetic appeal. In reflecting on the success of the project, Tom Barton commented, “For all of the challenges presented by this project, it is so very rewarding to know that the customer and their site clientele have been empowered by the solutions we have provided.”
